OUR MISSION:
ArchWorks, the Architecture Workshop, provides
a collaborative and comfortable environment for clients
to utilize our
design expertise to meet their needs, desired aesthetic
sensibility and their budget. None of us believe that
good architecture needs to be inordinately expensive.
TEAM APPROACH:
ArchWorks takes a team approach toward projects
by integrating general contractors, with their expertise
in building,
scheduling and costing, into the design process as early
as possible. We are also very comfortable working with
interior designers, landscape architects, home theater
specialists, craftspeople, artisans and others, at the
request of the client.
ArchWorks is always looking for ways to generate value
for our clients. When working with structural engineers,
we work hard to reduce construction costs and use the structure
of a building in an architecturally expressive way. One
example of expressing building structure, which is certainly
not applicable in all situations, is to leave a residential
family room open to finished timber roof rafters above.
Considerable savings are realized by not constructing a
framed, drywall ceiling, with applied moldings, and clients
find the final result very attractive.
GETTING YOUR BUILDING PERMIT:
We are very successful working with local planning and
building departments, to insure speedy approval of client
projects. By conducting early, informal reviews, by anticipating
the concerns of local planning and building departments
and by remaining flexible, we are able to resolve any issues
that may arise within days, not weeks or months, and keep
the project moving along.
CREATING VALUE:
We believe that with proper planning and by building trust
with our clients, projects will run smoothly and the process
of building will be rewarding for all. When clients understand
all of the possibilities available to them and can make
intelligent decisions, architectural services pay for themselves
in reduced construction costs, building only what is needed
and realizing greater project value after project completion.
CREATING TRUST:
We build trust with our clients by speaking directly, taking
the time to explain something that our client may not understand
and always being available. If the client has a question
in we cannot immediately answer, we will find the answer.
